Kikker 5150 Hardknock Review from Mount Laurel, New Jersey

I bought into there dealership program thinking I was going to make a little money. But that ended very quickly the wiring harness adapter for the 250 vt didn't work first you have to change some wires around to get spark. Then your charging system doesn't work.So you have to change that around adf 2 more wires.and when you point it out they slander your name on line make jokes about you banned you from his chat line what an ***.So they won't sale to me anymore that's fine.Plug and play should be plug and pray I like that look of the bike I just have to go around and replace all the little cheap *** like the mico switches nice bike just bought from a *** that's all.live and learn.

NOT a death trap!!

Um just as an fyi yea You can still back order issues of the Easy Rider with Full Color ads from Harley Reading . " Now the little lady can ride too!!" and " Welcome to the new 883 Perfect starter for her" Start looking in the 80 after Harley Stopped making the iron hear line of sporty with the 1000cc motors.

The Iron Head was built to " keep up and compete with not only the Shovel head but with the lower priced metric bikers on the marker. Then I want to 84 85 Harley set sights on the women's market and made the 883 shorter built for her. That's where all the "Girls Bike" stuff came from well as much of the marketing ideas from the 80 failed as the term PC became more into play ( made more women mad) and Harley pulled the ads and left the Sporster as an intro to the Harley (PC) for beginner. Now we are all clear on that.

Just to let anyone know I own 95 Electra Glide Ultra Classic, 14 Dyna 103ci Wide Glide 88 Honda Shadow 600 And lastly a kicker 515* 125cc bobber. In Kentucky I hold Ins and a Motorcycle plate. I bought it in 2010 and have not had a problem with it. Where I live lots of small back roads hits 35 to 45 so if I run to the city i'm still good.

took it to bike night at QSL and it was the talk of the night. As for BBB I don't know about any of that. As for a "death trap" you must not know how to build a motorcycle.

And it's ok to not know how just don't slam something due to your lack of skill. When I Leave it at the clubhouse and other member use it for runs to the store and back.

Hostile and Atrocious Customer Services

Warning: Dealing with this company is futile. Product are inferior and Kit bikes show up with missing and broken parts.

If you have to deal with customer service or ordering parts be prepare to be insulted and attack in a hostile manner. I have been in the motorcycle business for 10 years and have never experience such horrible customer service where the personnel attacks and call customers vulgar names and threaten not to sell parts or replace damage products. Customer service would not even listen before they start attacking and using foul languages. Their atrocious behaviors is unprofessional and uncalled for.

When I stated that I was going to file a complaint with consumers affair and the better business bureau they seem to find that amusing obviously they have no business ethics and don't don't about their products of their customers. Please spare yourself and do not deal with this company.

He stopped selling kits and now sell complete bikes with little moped engines on them for $3500 and up! Who the heck would buy a cheap Chinese moped dressed up like a bobber for that kind of money?

And from a clown with such a horrible rep? Too funny!

Customer service? The only person who answers any calls or emails is. Kelly kikkert himself his temper explodes because he has a fuse as short as he is.

People who consider buying this junk need to be aware that this Kelly joker is just an agent. An importer.

He has no access to spare parts from China. They just ship him bikes. They used to be in kit form but he must have run into some sort of snag. Honda parts MAY interchange but the *** Honda clone engines are made from genuine Honda "molds" but the molds have been sold to China when they wore out instead of being tossed like they should have been.

There's some other jokers selling *** bikes and claim they're made in the US.

They are assembled here from *** junk.

Neither one of these "Motorcycle Manufacturers" make one mention of China. That should be your clue to stay away. Wanna inexpensive "chopper"?

Buy some dykes Honda Rebel and make your own. The end result, either way, is that you'll be laughed at riding these.

You get what you pay for.

You may notice Kelly steers clear of this forum...

I have had my killer for 8 years. I take good care of her.

She starts every time. You get what you pay for. My killer is for sort rides. It is fun and a blast to ride.

I get more compliments on my bike. I have so many people take pictures. A motorcycle shop even took pictures. These are not heavy duty Harleys or Honda's.

They are fun. I'm a female so I love my kikker

Guest

I can tell you exactly why so many people never receive the correct parts that are missing from their packages or replacement parts for their bikes... Kelly's "business" is a one man show where he keeps all parts he still has left over from years of selling kits, in a little shack that isn't even closed off and protected from the elements, where he doesn't even have a good inventory supply.

Most of them have been sitting for years and have accumulated damages from rust and dirt; not to mention they are horrible cheap chinese manufactured garbage. So rather than telling people the truth about not even having the parts in stock (revealing how bad he runs his business, embarrassing!) he totally avoids customers or simply lies to them and tells them he is shipping it out and they should expect to get it in a couple days all the while he has no intention of sending you ***

also anyone who answers the phone is Kelly, he will often answer and claim, oh Kelly isn't in right now when customers request to speak with him... to avoid customers complaints and actually having to do something to make it right, he is pretending to be another person.

It is always Kelly answering phone calls.

Please don't waste anymore of your hard earned money buying another thing from this ***

Thanks for the info. The bike looked interestingly retro and being a newbie to motorcycles some people have suggested I should learn on something with less power.

i don't know though, all the bikes I like are 650 ccs and up. Maybe I should just man up and get what I want the first time. I figured this one had space to increase the motor.

The 150 just looks too small for the frame.

I am the owner of Micks Customs and ive been a Hardknock dealer since 2006. Kelly has ripped me and my customers off many times.

Ive even defended him right here on Pissed Consumer. Well im done, he is a very poor business person, a total *** hole to customers and all of his designs are just stolen ideas from other REAL BIKE BUILDERS. I am coming out with my own bobber kit and in cloaboration with others too. He is about to see the competition of his life unfold in front of him.

Bye Bye Kikker 5150. You screwed the wrong guys this time. A group of us dealers all got together and have been working on our own inventions. We know from Kelly Kikkert how not to run a business so, Thank You skinny little worm for teaching us how to be your biggest competition.

I have proof from his own words that he copies ideas from other bike builders if anyone wants them. Oh yah there will not be a 250cc bike because the liability is too large, i have that copied too.

Have a nice day Mr. Kikkert See you all soon WWW.MICKSCUSTOMS.COM

How am I wearing the g-string?? You know the times in the past that you've said that... you've jinxed yourself....

If Sam did all the promo work on his own and out of his own pocket, why should he donate advertisement to his competition?? Didn't you take economics in high school?

This is a capitolist society we're in.

The Viva Knock Vegas rally is an event sponsored by the manufacturer.

Not only is it an event where we can all get together and have fun, it's promotion of the product.

You don't think the build off bike I'm making isn't going to have a list of the companies that provided paint and leather and Wild Celt Cycles isn't going to be mentioned in any way, shape, or form? It's fun, it's art, and it's promotion.

If the dealers want a piece of the pie that Sam baked, they can help pay for the ingredients.

And as a side note, it's a bananna hamock, not a g-string, and it's HOT PINK with a smiley face on my junk.

Sam is a local dealer. Sam made the deal with the hotel. Why would an out of state dealer expect equal exposure? Even the other local dealer understands this. Someone tried that last year. Your business card on someone else's bike is not cricket.

Kikker 5150 Hardknock Bobber and their service suck

I research everything before i buy. I looked up Kikker 5150 Inc. Kelly Kikkert (the owner) and all of the dealers i could find. Even though everything on the internet about this company and the owner was negetive I chose to call his dealers and find out first hand. They all said the same thing, that Kelly just gets mad easily and if you *** him off he wont help you with warranty, an MSO, or parts problems. They all assured me that i could register the Hardknock bobber and that they are legal for the street. Well i decided to call the EPA, DMV in Florida, and ODOT. Not only are they extremely illegal for the road but the bikes and owner of KIkker 5150 are both under federal investigation. They DO NOT meet any of the safety standards, federal emissions, EPA, ODOT, and are illegally imported to the US from China. WTF? I was assured by 12 of his dealers and Kelly himself at Kikker 5150 that his bikes were all legit and ready for the street. So i was now a little irritated about being lied to, i decided to ask more people so i joined The Hardknock Forum only to find out the crooked thief liar of an owner runs it. He deletes posts that aren't in his favor and there are a select few members who are either dealers or his man slaves that defend him and lie for him. If you say anything about another bike, bad service, "*** question" or anything that doesnt support their little clique you will be kicked off and black balled. I have been on the forum for 1 year now and it happens every day. I am going to spread the word all over the internet and motorcycle forums to warn everyone that the Kikker 5150 Hardknock, The owner Patrick Kelly Kikkert, and his Hardknock Dealers are all in on a huge scam to sell junk china bikes and they are dishonest from the beginning. They say whatever they can to sell a bike. They also promote marajuana like its a cigarette, I have 15 years clean and sober and i dont appriciate the *** talk daily, degrading women, and attacking other members for simply asking a few question. here is a list of the crooked dealers i talked to.

Tims Kustoms

Emerald Valley Cycles

East Side Old School

Go Cart USA

Texas Hardknock

Jameson Cycles

Steele Power Sports

ancient of days cycles

skeet town hardknocks

kikker bikes

And here are the Hardknock dealers or former dealers who were honest to me and told me about all of the title issues, bad service from Kikker 5150 and Kelly Kikkert, as well as teh fake warranty and fake illegal MSO. I appriciated their honesty and many examples . A few of them are no longer dealers for this *** because of his bad service and lies.

www.mickscutoms.com

www.oldschool.com

www.deldovacycles.com

I am now on a mission along with hundreds of Hardknock owners ive met to start a class action lawsuit against Kelly Kikkert and his business. Im starting a website for the cause.

Bad deal

http://www.bbb.org/greater-san-francisco/business- />

Says it all that needs to be known unless you just want the simple pleasure of not knowing whether or not you will be safe with the product or the company. Fly by night joke to me.

Seems if they wanted to be actual professionals they would address any and all situations brought to them by the bbb, yet they wish to play dumb and ignore them.

Which is their choice to do so. Not worth the headacke to me to risk it.

KIKKER has an F rating with the BBB. There are HUNDREDS of complaints online on various forums and message boards.

They have no customer service and getting parts is shakey.

The bikes are NOT DOT or EPA approved and KIKKER themselves state in writing that their bikes are NOT intended for use on US roads, streets or highways. BEWARE!

Danerous

My son crashed one of these head on into a telephone poll. Because of the suicide shifter my son was unable to negotiate a turn and ran head on into a telephone poll this last weekend.

He nearly died and has approx 100k in medical expenses (so far). Witnesses say and a video shows him with one hand on the shifter and the other trying to turn this thing. there is a good reason these shifters aren't used on bikes these days and my son had to learn the hard way.

please let me know if you have had similar experience. This bike has other inherent dangers built into it that could have been a factor in his crash.

Maybe don't use that shifter when turning??

Guest

You should know your kids abilities better than anyone..why would you purchase / allow him to ride something he could get killed on!!

Guest

Why would you let a kid that can barley walk and chew bubblegum at the same time sounds like to me the problem lies with the supervision not the bike!!!!!!

Guest

Sorry for what happened to your son. I want all riders to be safe and enjoy the experience of riding a motorcycle.

Suicide shifters "hince the name" are an option on any motorcycle with a rider with know how. Not something specific to kikker or any manufacturer.

Kikker does give the option because the style of bike is a older vintage model so it's an option as it was in the past. I really hope your son has made a full recovery.

Guest

That shifter is optional ...

Guest

Your son should have picked a normal bike

Guest

Obviously your son just doesn't know how to ride properly with this type of shifter.

Guest

Maybe he shouldnt have tried to ride a bike with a suicide shifter.. they call them that for a reason.

Guest

no rider should actually be on the road without completing proper schooling on how to ride a bike.. if your son had taken a simple four week course he would have learned how to use a side shifter you can't blame a bike when it is your own fault

Guest

show your son how to ride. this is the way bikes started out in the good old days right?

it's his fault and yours for letting him ride with out the proper experience and training.

be glad he's still alive and ride on another day.

It sucks, but that's life bud. It goes on!

Really?

Mick's. It seems like you have had a rough go sticking your neck out for Kikkert.

I think it's funny how you're letting everyone know how kikkert is a goof when it comes to business but your website does not even work. It's kind of odd how as a reputable company these days though that you post a website that does not even work. www.mickscustoms.com

I'm looking for an alternative to the kikker bobber but it seems there's currently nothing available. I hope that someone can develop an altenative to these bikes soon.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a different manufacturer of an alike bike?

Check Cleavland Cycle Werks. (http://www.clevelandcyclewerks.com/cleveland-motorcycles/).

I met the founder (Scott) a few years ago and he's a standup guy.

His bikes are American built with a motor (250cc 4 stroke single) that Scott has made in China but to his criteria. There are four models and they have a good dealer network here in the states as well as around the world with a great reputation.

I think the bikes retail for just over 3k and their a full size bike.

The CCW is not better. The engine is a Honda CG125 clone that has been bored up to 233cc.

The bikes are made in China and the last part of assembly is done in the USA. They are not American built at all. The big difference between Kikker and CCW is their customer service.

They aren't American bikes though. They're not designed or built in the USA.

Guest

Hey guy, looking for an alternative still? If so check out Cleveland Cycle Werks, "Tha Heist".

I recently purchased one and if your looking for something small to beat around town with or a blank canvas for customizing it's perfect. Oh and the price is right too, around $3500.

Buy a used Sportster or similar. They are REAL motorcycles.

If you think you can buy a safe, dependable EPA, DOT approved bike NEW for under $3K youre an ***.

Why buy Chinese junk from a shady company with an F rating with the BBB and HUNDREDS of complaints on the net? Get a clue!

I know the feeling. I relectny sold a 1991 Mercedes 420 SEL, because I had to move.

I loved that car, the first car I truly loved, despite all its problems. And I wanted another one. My in-laws' mechanic was selling a clean California 1983 Mercedes 300SD with 120,000 miles. The asking price was a bit high and there were a handful of cosmetic things wrong with it, like sagging seats, needed tires, alignment off and worn tires.

This was to be the sole daily driver of my family of three. Sure, those 5-cylinder Benz diesels last forever, and I immediately liked driving it. It reminded me of the 420 SEL. But I had visions of brittle 27-year-old plastic interior parts breaking every weekend or the A/C getting overwhelmed by 100+ degree heat.

I could see this car and its problems ruining a weekend family outing to the mountains. So instead, I bought a 1999 Crown Victoria P71 with 125,000 miles that served its whole life as a local fire chief's take-home ride.

Everything worked, and it was $1,000 less than the Benz. I don't regret this decision one bit.

Warning to customers and dealers!

Just the facts about the Kikker bikes.

The bike comes as a bag of parts. Often parts are missing or do not fit. The bike is approximately 1/2 scale. Takes a few hours to assemble.

These bikes can not be registered in many states because the VIN#'s are fake. In my state, they actually pulled the titles of bikes that were already titled. Others, we had to find a (somewhat illegal) way to register the bikes. Registering the bikes as "home built". Which took 4-8 hours of inspection (per bike) with the highway patrol. Even after all this, those titles were also revoked after 3 months. To legally sell a bike in the USA, you have to be registered with the NHTSA as a Manufacturer. The kikkers is not.

Selling a motorcycle in the USA without DOT parts is a major crime. Kikkers have no DOT parts. Dealers selling kikkers can be fined a minimum of $7500 per bike if caught, max in in the hundred of thousands. We found out that we could go to jail for selling a vehicle that does not have any DOT parts. Really, what a shock that knowingly, or even unknowingly selling a bike without legal parts, dealers are held liable.

The bikes are not on the list of approved manufacturers with the NHTSA. Check for yourself. http://204.68.195.151/cars/rules/manufacture/

Motors are not legal for road use, No EPA certification. EPA does not even know how he gets the motors into the country, because they did tell us this is 100% illegal.

Dealers selling bikes without EPA certification are held liable for all bikes they put on the road. Now that I know about the extent of illegal that this company was perpetrating, we would have never got involved.

Now for some opinions: If you run a legal business, stay away from this product.

There is a small clan of diehard people who we have talked to on a forum that is run by the owner of the company. To those people: This guy Kelly does not care about you, or anyone else's safety, and I know this 1st hand.

This message is directed towards the average business owner, small shop and average rider. This illegal motorcycle is not worth the hassle. Better to deal with a reputable distributor and company.

It was not until we did some research and educated ourselves on motorcycles, and the US laws, that we realized how illegal it actually is to sell this bike to customers.

We have done our best to just illuminate some facts and not be inflammatory. Thank you for the time you have taken to read our experience with this product. We will stay far away from Kikker from now on.

Ok! I have sat here reading good and awful stuff for about an hour and all I can say is, -I don't give a rats rear end if Kelly Kikkert is a rude *** I don't CARE if the DOT has issues and the EPA?

Give me a BREAK!! I have been riding old rusty shmuckbikes built back in the sixties that were so BADLY designed that it scares me thinking back!! I am taking the bike to Belize anyway so,,,, What DOES concern me is the stories of non delivery of parts! IF I understand the general consensus right I ought to buy a bike that is already built so that I know that all the parts are there?

And someone mentioned that the e-bay and craigslists were FULL of KIKKERS for sale $400 - $600? -WHERE???? I have CASH RIGHT HERE AND NOW!! I want 3 bikes 200cc or 250cc I don't care if engines are seized/blown/MISSING!!!!

REAL cheap to replace so why worry if they wont last??

Hoping for a few tips about bikes here!!!

:) Sincerely; Charles Highlander. High Point NC

lets think back 10 years ago and how bikes have changed from 1998 to 2008.most of the cenhgas have been improvements to a unchanged design.fuel injection, increased reliability, better brakes and suspensionbut the major engine and frame designs remain the same.I believe the future of bikes will be automatic, cvt transmissions, better fuel economy, lower emissions, and the slow phase out of the bigger cruiser bikes, where a future 600 cc engine will have the torque and power of a 1600 cc cruiser bike.fly by wire with cam buss systems are already in some motorcycles and atv's, linked and abs brakes along with traction control are already here. The hottest sells in 2008 will be the scooters and the smaller sport bikes.HD is in trouble, they need to re-tool and and design new, smaller bikes, Harley Davidson Scooter, call it The HD Scoot

Go smoke another joint Brandon. You're not high enough.

Lets take a deeper look at this - The producer built a motorcycle. Although it is not certified by the government, is the producer the problem or is it the government?

Imagine if no cars or motorcycles had to go through the rigourous inspections of the US Government. Imagine how much cheaper our cars and motorcycles would be. The US Laws and regulations are ridiculous.

And everyone wonders why no jobs are being created. It is because the government kills it with regulations.

Buy a CCW Hiest from mickscustoms.com instead.

It's a bigger bike, it's EPA and DOT approved, and it's STREET LEGAL. Best of all, both Mick and CCW have a history of EXCELLENT customer service, plus they have parts in stock! Kikker has a F rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Google the name KELLY KIKKERT (owner of kikker5150) and read all of the complaints against him. If you do the research you'll find the CCW Hiest is your best bet!

Guest

becuz kikkert is an inept dooosh who cant keep his business together. thats why theres more demand than supply.

man are you ever dumb.

read the complaints about this clown that are all over the net. everyone thats ever been screwed by this guy needs to write the epa and the dot about this weasel.

Does anyone have the Tax ID of Kelly Kikkert?

Updated by user May 07, 2011

Everything is fixed

Original review Feb 13, 2011
I bought 2 motorcycles from Kikker5150, 1.5 months ago with the idea to bring them to Mexico. The motorcycles are still stucked in Texas because he sent the invoice without the Tax ID. My customs agent, friends in USA and me have been calling him and sending several emails in order to ask for the missing data, but he never replies. I do not know why about his conduct with his customers. Therefore if anywone who had been pissed by Kikkert and wants to help me. I need the Tax ID in order to bring the boxes to Mexico.

Call your credit card company and cancel your payment dude!

Guest

Sounds like Kikker. They kiss your butt until they get your payment.

Then they cut off contact and won't answer simple questions.

Call your credit card company ASAP! Cancel that payment!

Beware of Kikker 5150!

Beware of Kikker 5150!

I was a customer and a dealer. This clown Patrick Kelly Kikkert (alias Kelly Kikker, alias Kelly Kikkert, alias "Killer") ripped me off royally.

It started with sending the wrong bikes and parts, it progressed to lying about MSO's. It ended with him cashing a sizeable check from me and cutting off all contact. He eventually sent me 2 incomplete bikes and still owes me over $1000. His business is in the toilet and he's too ignorant to even know it.

Maybe he does and thats why he's screwing so many people lately.

Beware! You WILL be next if deal with this loser.

You are right 100 percent kelly is a lier when it comes to dealership program and the plug and play harness adapter more like plug and pray harness adapter dose not work don't ask kikker for help he will put you down. Now on his site he has a tech line that's *** save your money.Avoid this company.

Guest

I love when kikkers owner comes here and makes up possitive posts about his junk as if the net isn't full of complaints about his product and conduct. Why would anyone look up a complaint site and post something POSSITIVE? Nice try Kelly.

Guest

i love my 110! over 8000 miles on it in town.

got mine for $800.00 used and broken. went over the whole bike and its great!

it would be nice to be able to get parts but what the ***. its so simple and ez to repair i love it!

Guest

We ordered a bike from him. It arrived incomplete. When I called to point this fact out to him He became combative.

I'm still waiting for parts 5 months later. If I make it out to his neck of teh woods I'm going to plant my boot so far up his *** that he'll taste shoe leather.

I'm serious. Nobody ever gets away with doing me wrong.

Guest

Your aritcle perfectly shows what I needed to know, thanks!

Guest

There is without a doubt some crooked stuff going on at Kikker 5150. It's undeniable when every review I read about Kikker 5150 or Kelly Kikkert is negetive.

That many people cannot be a coincidence, come on. Any *** can see that. I wouldn't even consider one of those POS bikes.

The owners brag about having to work on them all the time, they thing anyone that isn't ready for that isn't a real biker. WTF is wrong with those ***

Guest

Hey grain of salt, why would you need to order 100s of parts? Hardly a ringing endorsement. Maybe that's why most sane people stay away from cheap Chinese manufactured junk.

Guest

You ordered 3 bikes and 100's of parts? Hmmm......

Sounds like BS. Nice try.

Guest

Hey look. 1 possitive posting out of hundreds on the net that are negative.

Looks like Kelly found this page and is trying to blow some smoke. lmao! Go to the bbb.com and look at all the complaints! Go to ripoff report.com and see all the negative postings about Kikker.

***, google the name KELLY KIKKERT and see what you get. He's a crooked weasel.

Guest

I have ordered 3 bikes and over 100 parts from Kikker. I have only had two wrong orders, both times the replacement parts were shipped to me with in a week.

I believe anyone who reads your initial post will see there is clearly something else going on with your situation. Maybe drugs or alcohol related?

Lie, lies, lies!

Kikker 5150 is the worst company to deal with. The owner Kelly is a rude and a liar. He stated that before I ordered the bike I would have my MSO sent to me when I mailed in my warranty card. I did so and waited 4 weeks , and nothing I called Kelly he sd It was sent. Another 2 weeks he now says he doesn't legally have to send it. WTF! He assures me he will send it out, I asked him "didn't you say you already sent it out?" He says well send in another warranty card and we will send it out for you. I did so. #months ago and still nothing ! What a complete *** ,He was rude every single time I spoke to him which must have been 100 times. This is a huge problem If I can't register the bike without the MSO why get it? The ONLY reason I got the bike is because he assured me that I would get the MSO to register the bike. I now have the bike with at least 3 wrong parts and broken signals which never worked and will never be replaced by kikker 5150 and I CAN"T EVEN RIDE IT LEGALLY cuz Kelly is a rude liar who can't run a business. Kelly is a *** toronto, Ontario Canada
